Thanks Skyline for playing host to my Christian-country concert!!! I really appreciated the Praise and Worship Team adding their special gifts to the service. And Mike, thanks so much for running the sound and slide show for me.
Pastor Mika, the idea of serving homemade "breakfast" after the night's concert was a great one - especially since the men did most of the cooking. What a tasty treat! Who says men can't cook??!! Thanks guys!!
What you may not realize, is this was my first full-blown "Ann Hartmann" concert since my son's death last October. Part of me wasn't sure I could still do it - but I know "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Phillipians 4:13)
Before Jeremy died, I believed God had called me to help people with my music, and I was busy doing that. I've never stopped believing that's what God wants me to do - but losing Jeremy sorta threw me off the "horse" for awhile. This concert was my chance to get back "in the saddle" again, and I could feel God's presence cheering me on.
Satan loves to discourage us - and his strongest attacks come when we are already wounded. Sometimes he does succeed at slowing us down, BUT he CANNOT succeed at stopping us - not if we choose to trust God - and I do!
As I said at the concert when I was sharing about Jeremy's death, I would have NEVER chosen to be the mother that lost her son to drugs and alcohol, but God has trusted me with the position, and I'm determined to make something good come from it! It's time to get back to work! Thanks Skyline!
