The GodsChild writer's night at Richard's Cafe was a big success. The house was packed, the food was delicious, and the fellowship was warm and cozy.
This day would have been my son's 27th birthday if he had not been killed at age 24, so when GodsChild Records owner, John Rees, asked me to participate, I hesitated before saying yes. Birthdays are usually "hard" days for me.
But, I'm so glad I said yes. John had a special treat for me. He played and sang, I CHOOSE TO TRUST YOU, a special song I finished writing just before my son's death. I have always believed God helped me get that song finished just before He knew I was going to need it - as the song helped me get through that hard time with my faith intact. Hearing John sing it for me that night was such a blessing. Thanks John!
Other GodsChild artists performing were Tammy Vice, Carla Manchester, Sandra Lee Burdick, Sam Sampson, and me. Richard Trest, owner of Richard's Cafe, also sang a few of his songs for us. Thanks Richard!
It was a great night!
