Once again I had the opportunity to attend the Inspirational Country Week in Nashville, TN sponsored by the Christian Country Music Association (CCMA). It is always great to see fellow artists and writers from all over the United States and around the world. It is a chance to reconnect with old friends and to make new ones.
Our mornings were filled with educational seminars to better equip us for our music ministries. In the afternoons we networked with one another at the trade booth area. My record label - GodsChild Records - had a booth again this year so I was able to enjoy hanging out with everyone there. At night there were artist showcases - a marathon of GREAT music that lasted well into the wee hours of the morning! I am not normally a late night person, but I took in as much as I could - it was that good!
During the GodsChild Records showcase I was able to perform "Tending To Todd" - the new Fox Brothers radio single that I co-wrote with Lynn Fox. I wore my Fox Brothers cap so I could have fun pretending to be Randy Fox - the lead singer for the Fox Brothers. Speaking of the Fox Brothers, they won the "Group of the Year" award again this year - way to go guys!!!
The awards show was held at the Ryman Auditorium and was broadcast live on national television on GAC - Great American Country. My dear friend Melanie Walker got to perform on the show this year. She sets the standard on serving God with EXCELLENCE! I was thrilled when she took home the "Female Vocalist" award. Way to go Melanie!!!!! You did a GREAT job!!!!
